Home Customer Case Studies Provincie Zeeland
The Province of Zeeland focuses on economic development, growth, and innovation. It does this, among other things, by investing in new technologies and smart solutions for its mobility challenges. One of these solutions is the fiscal trip registration system from MyFMS. We spoke about this with Mario Corthals, Fleet Manager at the Province of Zeeland.
Corthals explains that he came into contact with MyFMS through a tip from the Province of North Holland. ‘We had a lease contract with various parties, including several provinces and water boards. I regularly consult with the Province of North Holland, and they advised me to enter into discussions with MyFMS,’ he says.
For the Province of Zeeland, the use of track & trace systems was new. ‘The implementation ultimately turned out to be more work than I had anticipated, particularly from a legal perspective,’ Corthals continues. Nevertheless, a successful pilot yielded valuable insights. There are now 30 vehicles, both pool cars and registered vehicles, equipped with MyFMS’s fiscal trip registration solution.
Corthals is very satisfied with the new approach so far. ‘It is wonderful to be able to easily print out your trip log. Previously, we kept everything on paper. If you had to drive from home to different cities in the morning, you had to record every trip manually. I did that once a month, and it easily took me an hour. The time savings are therefore enormous for all employees combined.’
MyFMS and the Province of Zeeland have jointly made the MyFMS solution fully BIO-compliant, ensuring it now meets all Government Information Security Baseline (BIO) standards. Through intensive collaboration and targeted adjustments to information security, the solution offers the Province of Zeeland a secure, reliable environment that aligns with all government standards.
To manage pool cars, the province has linked passes to employees, allowing monthly reports to be generated on both vehicle usage and users. “This is very useful for the Tax and Customs Administration’s audits,” explains Corthals. “We have finalized everything properly together with MyFMS.”
Corthals also praises MyFMS’s customer-oriented service. ‘If we do have a question that we cannot answer ourselves, we send a message to the MyFMS service desk. We are always helped quickly.’
With a solid trip registration solution and reliable support, the Province of Zeeland has taken a significant step in the further digitalization of its fleet management. ‘It is a pleasant process,’ concludes Corthals with satisfaction.
In this way, Zeeland demonstrates that innovation contributes not only to growth and renewal, but also to efficiency in daily business operations.
