One of those agreements is that in 2023 work-related personal mobility must emit 1.5 megatons less CO2. The government mainly wants employers to make conscious choices regarding the sustainability of personal mobility and has so far only imposed an obligation to provide data on business trips and commuting. Since July 1, 2024, this was previously January 1, 2024, you as an employer with 100 employees or more are required to submit this data.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What data must you submit?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>It concerns in principle all trips for which employees receive financial compensation or for which the employee receives a vehicle or transport pass from work. What you must report in annual totals is:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The number of kilometers<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The means of transport used<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The type of fuel<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>In practice, you therefore do not submit figures about the actual CO2 emissions. These emissions are calculated automatically.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For 2024, you report over a year or, if you use postponement, only over half a year. All data must be submitted no later than June 30 of the following calendar year (so for the first time on June 30, 2025). The Netherlands Enterprise Agency provides <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rvo.nl\/onderwerpen\/rapportage-wpm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">a digital platform<\/a> for this.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Why this measure?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>At the moment, there is no mandatory individual standard yet, but only a collective ceiling to achieve the CO2 reduction of 1.5 megatons. An individual standard may come into effect if during the evaluation it appears that CO2 emissions have exceeded the ceiling or if no downward trend is visible. Whether this will then only apply to business mobility or also to commuting remains to be seen. Such a future standard could also take into account differences between sectors and regions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What does this measure mean for companies with a fleet?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The ministry wants employers to become more sustainable. Freedom of choice is central in this. You can determine yourself which measures fit best. One option may be to (partly) replace the fleet with electric vehicles, but also consider encouraging hybrid working or promoting the use of bicycles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">MyFMS automatically registers all data for CO2 reporting obligation<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>It is expected that this new measure will increase administrative burden.
